“Enjoy learning. Learn to learn”
EARLY STIMULATION AND MULTIPLE INTELLIGENCES.
Humanitas Bilingual School Tres Cantos develops its own Project for pupils from the age of one, which activates their physical, intellectual, critical, emotional and social potential, supporting their full academic and personal development for the future.
We prioritize learning through play, through manipulating objects and through experiences, in a safe and caring environment, where the child is stimulated, learns and has fun at the same time.
ENGLISH – SPANISH BILINGUALISM
In Nursery 1, daily activities are developed which the pupils can relate to through stories and songs. In this way they become used to a second language and build their phonetic and phonological bases in the English.
With the aim of promoting a natural bilingual environment in the school, from the age of 2, the Nursery pupils experience authentic English language immersion. The two year old pupils carry out 60% of the day in English through 32,5 teaching hours per week.
GLOBALIZED PROJECT
On a daily basis we are constantly developing one project after another, previously planned, coordinated and subsequently evaluated. For this reason the characteristic way of working in Nursery (1 and 2 year olds) is Project Based Learning (P.B.L.) in a globalised project context.
ICT
In Nursery our pupils become familiar with the use of iPad and interactive whiteboards so that they are used to this technology as a working tool, used sensibly in the corresponding activity corners and in different areas of understanding and knowledge.
ARTISTIC PROJECT
By discovering great artists, we establish art and creativity as basic pillars of our pupils’ education, because the influence art has on children’s emotional, cognitive and physical development is fundamental.
By using this methodology during the stages of Nursery it encourages us to make our pupils responsible for their learning, their motivation to learn coming from the classroom, stimulating their potential and at the same time encouraging new capabilities.
EMOTIONAL INTELLIGENCE
Emotional education is a continuous process that we wish to develop in our pupils throughout their school lives, allowing them to resolve problems related to emotions and feelings. In our programme we consider emotions and feelings such as happiness, sadness, hostility, frustration, desperation, fear, willingness…
One of the project objectives is to train the pupils from Nursery to identify and manage the emotions that will determine their way of life, their identity, their personality and their behavior. This way we offer them a base on which to build their future emotional maturity.
PHYSICAL DEVELOPMENT
A child’s motor development contributes to their maturity and personal autonomy, achieving the ability to express their ideas and emotions, confront their fears and limitations and overcome them.
With this subject, taught within the school timetable, the pupil get to know their body, becomes coordinated and balanced, at the same time as achieving motor skills and agility.
